Other than the redirect/notice that Mele mentioned, Prosecurity (PS) and Realtime Defender (RTD)are vaporware IMO.
I hope RTD does materialize, and that it will then have a reliable, trustworthy, conscientous developer -- which was NOT the case with PS. Several months ago the PS developer ceased replying to support requests, even from those poor folks who paid for licenses that couldn't be activated. |

| Thank you for confirming my suspicion. Too bad though.
What do you recommend I use on Vista? It needs to be controlled far more than XP. Is SSM it as far as a classic, PG like HIPS? EQSecure doesn't have any help file in English and I had problems with it because of that. -- "The same ferocity that our founders devoted to protect the freedom and independence of the press is now appropriate for our defense of the freedom of the internet. 2 edits | I am still using XP, so I'm not very akamai about HIPS for Vista. SSM 2.4.0.621 beta works with Vista -- I'm told that it's very stable.
ComodoFirewallPro 3 (CFP3), with Defense+ (D+) active, will give you superb protection under Vista. As you know, CFP3 is a firewall plus HIPS with an extremely broad scope of protection and an extremely stupid AI (artificial intelligence). If you accept & adjust for the stupid AI, your computer can enjoy a nearly bullet-proof protection.
Here is one way to painlessly set-up CFP3 -- IF & ONLY IF your computer is clean.
1- Install CFP3, inclusive of D+. (Note-- Stay alert while downloading & installing CFP3. Be careful NOT to install CFP3's stupid tool bar. Be equally careful not to install Comodo's "Plus" version of CFP3. The Plus version is NOT free and is NOT worth buying.)
2- After install is finished, right-click the Comodo icon in your system tray then (a) set the firewall to "training" mode, then (b) set D+ to "training mode" 3- Right-click the Comodo icon in your system tray then click "Open" 4- On top row of GUI (showing "Summary" | "Firewall" | "Defense+" | "Miscellaneous") (a) click "Defense+". Then (b) click "My Own Safe Files". Then (c) click "ADD". Then (d) click "Browse Files". Then (e) Browse to My Computer > C > Program Files. (f) Then add the entire folder of each individual "clean" application to your safe files. Do this for 4 or 5 folders at a time. Click "apply". (g) repeat steps c-f until you have added ALL the folders for all clean applications to "My Own Safe Files."
5- Do updates for all your security apps then Right-click the Comodo icon in your system tray then set the firewall to "Safe Mode".
6- Leave D+ in training mode for several days then Right-click the Comodo icon in your system tray then set D+ to "Safe Mode".
7- After a couple of weeks, Right-click the Comodo icon in your system tray then (a) set the firewall to "Custom Policy Mode", then (b) set D+ to "Paranoid mode" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above process will give you a very secure computer with VERY few pop-ups -- IF & ONLY IF your "clean" computer is truly clean to begin with, AND you stay in safe waters during the two weeks of getting set-up in this manner.
NOTE 1: In CFP3, it is safer to categorize a file as "Safe" ("My Own Safe Files") than it is to categorize it as "trusted." For example, a Trusted Application can modify any protected file without alert, while a Safe Application that tries to change a protected file will generate an alert.
NOTE 2: As to "Step 4" in the above suggested process, this is what ProSecurity & Online Armor do AUTOMATICALLY during installation. Unfortunately, PS/RTD is vaporware for the moment, & OA won't yet work with Vista. |

The developer of ProSecurity put alot of time and skill into making that product. I do not know why he dissapeared in the latter time, but thats no grounds for saying that the developer was not reliable, trustworthy, or conscientous, because he was all those things and more. Just because things happen in ones life which makes it impossible to get online, or develope software, does not negate all the previous time, care and skill in the creation of his software.
The person who has bought ProSecurity, does not inspire me with confidence at all. I have tried to contact him, to no avail, and the site now redirects to random websites. Something which Jie (creator of ProSecurity) never did. |

BTW, I'm still a registered ProSecurity user, His software was on par with System Safety Monitor, 2 extremely lightweight, cleverly programmed, fantastic products. But I haven't had a response from the Jie in the last 3 months. |
