128k? WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!

DJBuzz24 : This is BEYOND retarded....

Flashback...

Ordered 3Mb, worked fine for 5 months

SL reverts me back to 1Mb, tells me 3Mb was mistake, sticks me at 256k-1Mb burst. After 2 months, VP of Corp Communications calls, tells me "we're not meant to be together". I suggest that I'm jumping ship and heading back to CenturyTel DSL....

I placed my CTell DSL order yesterday morning and emailed the VP of Corp Comm. to let him know of some information I heard from the angry locals over the holiday weekend....

This morning I get up and I'm locked at 256k again. No biggie, at this point I'm getting used to the false ads, shady business practices, POS TOS from 1998, and hearing sweet nothings whispered in my ear while being anally ravaged...

I fire up my 128k internet stream to start my day (go 90's Alternative / Lithium 24!) and can't get through a single song without my connection breaking all to crap.

So I run some bandwidth tests, which max out ~180k down, ~180k up. With my 128k SIRI stream going (not solid, massive dropouts), here's the speedtest results I get...

So for this morning I've been bouncing between 128k and 256k, but haven't seen anything greater.

People, seriously, don't go with this company. Just don't. Any cash you give them goes into their pockets and to upgrade only their larger networks. The constant advertisement of MAN speeds as internet speeds, the shady ToS that offload full responsibility of use to the customer, the practice of downgrading services without notification....

The only positive I can say about SuddenLink is that they (so far) have had top notch Tech and Customer Service, that actually answer emails and phone calls. The problem with *them* is that they don't know anything, and in 99% of cases simply reset / reprovision your modem, which keeps you quiet for about an hour until the problems begin again.

It has now become my personal mission to run this s*ita$$ company straight out of my little town. It's one thing to rip me off, but when you go after selling crappy service to my neighborhood and lying to my friends about the cause of their issues, I have to do something.

12 months, SuddenLink. I give you 12 months before Basic/Expanded cable TV is the only service you can actually sell here (that and 256k 'net is all they sell now!). My campaign starts today. Best of luck.
