They have the audacity to send me a higher bill and notice of rate increases in the same envelope. |

where does it say all services? there hasn't been an hsi price increase in years and I doubt they'd start now.

No increase here either.
The only billing related notice I got on my bill for the month of July (services billed from July 7 - Aug 6), was a new FCC regulatory fee rate, which amounted to the grand back breaking total of $0.01 increase on my bill total compared to the previous month  . They first put the notice on last month's bill and said it will be affective July 1st. So now the FCC regulatory fee $0.07 instead of $0.06
I believe that was the only change since January 1st of this year when TV rates were bumped up. |

Well, what are the prices going to be for CHSI and CDV for you now? I've heard nothing of rate hikes for those two prices in my area, and like another poster said, there hasn't been a price hike in CHSI for years (I've had it for 7 years now).
If this is another hike in their TV services and equipment...well, I've come to expect that from Comcast at this point. |

no increase here either in services, some minor increases in dvr box, modem rental, and cableguard for me though, only adds up to 7 cents though |

Depending on which services you have you could be paying up to an additional $6 to $10 per month. In my case I only have 6Mbps HSI so it's an additional $3 per month. This pissed me off enough to go looking elsewhere. In my case ATT southeast witch charges $42 per month for 6Mbps service. I've already place an order for new service which I'll keep along side Comcast for 1 week and if things go well I'll cancel Comcast HSI. |

One more thing. The Comcast rep I spoke to quickly OFFERED to cancel my service since I didn't like my new bill. I sometimes get the impression that some Comcast employees deliberately want to harm the company by driving customers away. |

Quite the opposite. They're not going to spend 30 minutes on the phone with you trying to give you offers so you can just be pissy about it and whine on the phone.
Rather, if you like the service, here it is. If you don't, then cancel. Folks often call to complain about the price, well, that's what the price is, take it or leave it. |

Comcast HSI 6Mbps service at $64 a month or $768 a year
ATT DSL extreem 6Mbps service at $42 a month or $504 a year
I get to save $22 a month or $264 a year
I think those savings make it worth while to try DSL for a week to see if it works for me. |

A friend who lives about 5 miles away got an increase of $14 per month. That's $168 per year. |

You called to cancel your service, right? Or, were you being dishonest and playing the "I'm going to cancel game, so give me a special" game...?
Let's see where things are:
1) Some people will bitch because they call to cancel and weren't "saved"
2) Some people get upset when they call to cancel and the rep attempts to "save" them...
3) Some people call up to play the game and try to work the company for a special by lying to them while they are claiming that the company isn't being fair to them int he first place for charging a price for their service that isn't well received.
I'm sure there is more.. but really.. I guess this proves that you will NEVER please everyone - haven't we learned this yet? |
