 how to check firmware version

Hi.. i am using ZXDSL831D modem with router. I get into the setup for modem using 192.168.1.1 , but the firmware version is very old i guess, how can i check its version because i want to set port for forwarding.. the speed i am getting in bit torrent is even less than 1 kbps
