 | The hits just keep coming! Don't seem to be able to call 800 numbers. Is this a system wide or just me? They all go to fast busy. All other calls are fine. |

Toll free calls aren't routed any differently than a regular call from our perspective really. Level 3 seems to have issues with terminating them from time to time, and we have a ticket/call in with them regarding this already. They generally fix it relatively quickly.

 | Brendan, I have had similar problems calling Sprint Cellphone numbers occasionally (5 times over the last 2.5 months). Is there a quick way for us to report such loss of connectivity to certain area codes ?. The last time this happened, the problem lasted at least 2 days. I tried submitting a support ticket but I gave up on that after I was asked for my network setup and router setup etc. It would be nice to have a way to give a quick heads up to Viatalk when we hit these reachability problems. |

 | reply to dcurrey 9 out of 10 masochists prefer Viatalk over any other VOIP provider. I'm sorry...I just couldn't resist...seems like the same ol' stuff over and over again. Feel bad for you guys. |

 | reply to pds I would think that inability to call certain numbers would be 100% indication it is NOT the customer at fault, so canned responses about putting your router in the DMZ and such are silly... |

1 edit | reply to dcurrey I am having a problem too, my service has been working for months with no problem. About 2 weeks ago phone started acting up you would have to call 2 or 3 times out going to make call go through naturally I was not at home called support from work they could not do anything because adapter not in DMZ so when I got home rebooted adapter and service started working. I put adapter in DMZ in case it happened again. My son just called me at work and told me home phone cannot make any out going calls had to use cell phone. he said when he calls out nothing happens, internet is working normal. It had worked for months not in the DMZ with the ports forwarded now even in the DMZ it is not working. I hope this is not starting again. The first couple of months of my service the phone was very unreliable. I guess this should be a new topic sorry for posting here. |

pds @zoominternet.net | reply to dcurrey As of 12:30pm EDT 7/12/2008 calls to 866-925-8282 are not going through. When I dial and wait for a few seconds, I don't get any ring tone or anything but if I start talking I can hear myself back with a one to two second delay ! I started trying from 12 and gave up after half an hour. BTW, I needed to make that call so I used my Sprint Cellphone and the call went through fine. Also, I'm able to call a bunch of other numbers (800 as well as toll) without a problem from my Viatalk phone.
Hope Brendan is listening. I wish there is a quick way to report such problems. I tried calling support but there were 14 people ahead of me and I was not about to waste my Saturday on hold with Viatalk. |
