[Soccer] Canada vs. Jamaica - Aug 20

Just a heads-up. Tickets for Canada vs. Jamaica World Cup Qualifier on August 20 are now on pre-sale. Usually, in events like this, the opposition drowns out Canadian support, but this time, Canadian supporters are very organized and have bought up big chunks of tickets to sell only to Canadians at face-value. However, we still need more people. We have a lot of good players, so it should be good. If you have the slightest interest in soccer, and will be in Toronto on August 20, buy your tickets now.

I believe there's more stuff here as well, from the Voyageurs newsletter:

The supporter sections have been finalized for August 20th fixture at BMO Field and a password created for access to the discounted seating in these sections. The supporters section will be starting in section 104 and working our way outwards as demand allows.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to see if anyone will go on a trip with me to Toronto for that game. Family or friends, either way should be a blast.

I'm hoping they can decide quick so it doesn't get sold out. The search is under maintenance so I couldn't even check right now .

Last game I went to in Toronto was Roma vs Celtic in a friendly. I'm hoping I can go to this game and see an actual meaningful game!

I've already got my tickets! Really looking forward to this one. I was hoping to see them play a more well known team like Mexico who is also in their group, but it will be great to get out and support the team. I would love if they would finally get in the world cup instead of being an embarrassment. My Swedish wife always laughs at that fact, since we really only do good at hockey on an international stage.

Anyone know where you can buy team Canada's football jersey?

I got my tickets today but even though I used the promo code I still got charged $25 per ticket plus convenience fee and all that. Anybody else in the same situation?

Yeah we got nailed with convenience fees and other garbage. 4 tickets at $25 each ended up costing a total of $137. Ticketmaster is the worst!

It's today! I can't wait, I haven't been able to work all day.

Also, it's completely sold-out, and 75% of the house will be supporting Canada.

Jamaica is the lowest ranked team in the group, so if there's any hope of making it to the Cup, we have to win.

Speaking of the Winter Olympics, one of the chants today is:
Jamaica, they got a bobsled team.
Canada, we have a football team

It sounds great when sung by lots of drunken people.

Disappointing result. My head hurts. I think that it was a combination of over-confidence (evidence: second video) and really really terrible refereeing.

Yeah he did, a 40 year old keeper with tons of experience shouldn't be doing those type of mistakes, but these things happen in this sport.

I didn't get to watch the game (work), but just seen the highlights on Sportsnet. Shame for Onstad's mistake. Letting in a goal like that, from a corner, is disgusting.

Unfortunately I'll be working so won't be able to see this game.

Although I don't have high hopes for Canada. Suazo will run rampant in today's game. I think he'll get two goals, so hopefully Canada can get 3 some how.
