central park and the Met

How far is central park from the Met? Within walking distance? I'll be at the Met on Sunday afternoon with my gf and wanted to take a stroll through central park. Also, can anyone recommend a nice place to get lunch around central park or the Met and where you don't need reservations. TIA

Sunday afternoon should be a good day for a walk in the park. Only a slight chance of thunderstorms, which seems to be going down every day.

Be sure to see the obelisk which is right outside of the museum inside the park.

As for places to eat - there are a few nice places on 2nd avenue that are pretty nice over there.

The Obelisk was moved from Egypt. Oh, and check out the Roof Garden while you're at it
