Assuming your Motorola modem is really a DOCSIS modem and router it provides the basis to create a home LAN.

You cannot use the 2Wire as a router because the way it connects to the WAN (Wide Area Network) is through ADSL. You can use it as an Access Point by turning off DHCP (Automatic IP address allocation) and connecting one of the LAN ports to your LAN.

What you are doing is creating an WiFi Access Point from a Wireless router.

Depending on how the Ethernet ports are configured you may need a crossover cable rather then a patch cable. If you want the gory detail look up Auto-MDX.

Before setting up Wireless get the wired LAN configured. First step is to find out if you have a Cable modem or a modem/router combo. If it is only a modem you will need to purchase a router.

What i wanna do is.. i wanna use it as a wireless router, thats pretty obvious... but i cant connect the cuz the Motorola out is a RJ45 and the Router in is RJ11(since its ADSL, not a regular router)

You don't mention brand/model of router. If you want to use it only as an AP, you might be able to disable DHCP and connect it by a LAN port.

The motorola uses RJ45 and the router has rj11 i think.. since its an ADSL router and it uses the phoneline to operate
