Security Update (KB951748) WITHOUT zonealarm

I installed this up date on laptop with xp home sp3 without a problem. When installed on desktop with xp pro sp2 I lost internet connection. Zone alarm is not on either machine. Using norton 360 on both machines. Anyone have any ideas

Thanks

Did they have the Cisco VPN client? I understand it uses technology from Zone Alarm......

the updates for my win xpsp3 changed the local ports that windows uses for "DNS", which killed my internet connectivity, until i adjusted my firewall-rules, allowing all local ports ie ports 1024-65535 to be used for DNS..

also, there were several files that were updated.. maybe your firewall is blocking the newly updated files from running? some people have been having that problem.. the solution for that is to update your firewall's ruleset-database so that it will recognize the new files, allowing them to run..
