ST 516 - Router in DMZ

I am trying to set up my modem and router so that my web server, etc. continue to work as they did on cable internet. I am trying to do this by putting my router (wrt54g) in the ST516's dmz. This is done by assigning the st16's public ip address to the router device under the devices tab. However when I do this nothing on my LAN has internet connectivity any more. I am running dd-wrt on the router and assume this is a routing problem. Dos anyone have any experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Stephen

I think it might just be easier to put the moden into Bridge mode rather than routed PPP, but I am unsure of the connection settings for this.
