"The Internet Can't Hide" I always joke to my wife about those wonderful AT&T commercials showing folks in remote parts of the world using their AT&T internet service because the Internet Can't Hide from AT&T. I joke about it when we go to the park (no service), when we eat at the Cheesecake Factory (no service), when I visit my son's apartment in West Covina (no service) or a handful of other locations. Sure, the internet can't hide from me if I'm in a swamp in a different country, it's because AT&T didn't build the network.

It could be that the local jurisdiction won't let them build any new cell towers in those areas. I know I have read some about the city councils put a freeze on new construction until they have a town council meeting where everyone on the council or county board shows up with a cell phone in their pocket or clip complaining that "we don't want no new cell tower because it causes cancer". There are ways to disguise new towers. I have seen them as giant church crosses, giant bell towers and (in south Florida) as giant palm trees. -- brought to you by Carl's Jr. Esteban Colberto for President of Cuba

No new construction is needed to add 3G to an already Digital tower.

He's talking about signal period, not just 3G or 3G at all.
