[trouble] Verizon dsl - links in email

I am trying to help a friend who has Verizon DSL and gets their email via Verizon's web site (no POP server is used and no email client is installed).

I sent her an email with a link to my web page. The link displayed in the email as plain text and was not clickable. Looking at her email "options" I see no place to change the way email displays links (i.e., no option such as "text" or "html" email).

We contacted Verizon support and after 1/2 hour of Verizon tech support trying multiple things - they gave up and the issue still exists.

I don't believe it is anything with the PC or IE. since I can go to my YAHOO! email via the web and links display properly in email there.

Has anyone else seen this? What was the fix?

The bottom one works and the top doesn't. What company's e-mail did you send to?

AFAIK, the Verizon website e-mail interface is text only.

Thanks.

Re: [trouble] Verizon dsl - links in email

Thanks KachiWachi - that was what I was looking for. Too bad Verizon support doesn't know that. I had a feeling that email was being displayed as text only. I think my friend's solution is to install an email client and use Verizon's POP server.
