Cream no coverage, light blue EDGE, dark blue 3G

This keeps cracking me up.. The largest metropolitan area in the United States gets this for 3G coverage.. The east end of LI has a tiny fraction of the population of the rest of it, but because there is lots of money out there, thats why there is an obvious difference.
Come on, they will fix it, it's a rollout based on demand and profits, just like CV's or Verizon, etc. Most of LI even in the non-3G area has Mobile TV coverage, 3G can't be far behind.

I live on the other side of NYC, and I can say the same thing, in fact, look at the map, you have coverage all through LI, I don't, and live only a few minutes from several totally dead zones. Those dead zones are covered well or partially by Verizon and no one living there (people do live there) would purchase ATT phones just for that reason.

Where I live they only put in 3G in the last year mostly because we're surrounded by the rich towns but we're the one with the cell towers since they won't allow them (except on municipal-non-school property). NIMBY Ringwood and Kinnelon residents have been fighting for a decade + about cell phone towers. West Milford allowed Verizon towers but won't allow any more, and Verizon won't share with anyone.
