| tire balancing (on vehicle)
Does anyone know a place in the greater Seattle area that can balance tires while they're on the vehicle?
I cleaned the wheels and rotated them yesterday, (R to F, F to opposite R) and now there's a much more noticeable vibration then before. And no, I didn't lose any weight.

| go to a Les schwab, they can't really do it on the vehicle, but their price are reasonable and they know what they are doing.
To thoughts as to why you have more vibration 1} if any wheel was misaligned before, the wear, even if not easily visible, will cause problem in a new position. they may wear in to the new postion or the may wear out strangely. 2} some newer tires are "uni-directional" and shouldn't be cross rotated, only moved front to rear on the same side. cross rotation makes them run "backwards" and can be dangerous. |

| Ok that uneven wear is what you are feeling, hopefully it will even out after an extended highway drive or 2. Is this on a motorhome, or large pickup?
I ask, because on heavy vehicles there is a powered powdered substance they can add inside the tire which "flows" around and dynamically balances the tires as you drive (not used on cars and small trucks, because it increases the unsprung weight too much for light duty suspensions) |
