| Thinking of getting the iPhone in November
But I'd like to know some things about it.
--Like, what accessories does it come with?
--How's the reception?
--Does the Exchange email option work as you would expect?
--Can you use the phone as an auxiliary MP3 sound device in your car?
--Can it survive a couple of drops?
Also what are some pros and cons? -- Photoshop these nuts in your mouth. |

| I'll let you google some of those answers, but it will work great as an MP3 sound device in your car--it's an iPod, after all.

I've dropped my iPhone several times in the last year and it still works great! Well I've Googled them already and couldn't find any answers I trust. So I figured I'd post the questions here. But if people aren't interested in answering them, I'll take it to another "Cooler" forum where I KNOW they'll get answered. |

| reply to onebadmofo power and AC and a finger-print wipe cloth come with it, reception is fair on the original and supposedly better on the 3G due to the non-metal casing, Exchange has been reported to work well, it works great as an auxillary sound device in car, yes mine has been dropped 2-3 times each.
The only real con is the cost - I would NEVER pay this much for a cell phone from anyone else, but I also haven't found one from anyone else that had all these features and sync'd so well with my computer and digital lifestyle in general. |

So far sounds like it would be great for me. The Exchange is a really big selling point for me. Not to mention the HUGE freakin screen and awesome display.
Do you know anything about the GPS? Is it turn by turn with voice?
Most of the googling I did about this, turns up pages for the older iPhone. Or, turns up pages about rumors of the newest one that came out. Nothing current. |

Reception is on average better than my T616 and Treo 700W.
No comment yet, haven't set mine up for Exchange (yet)
Yes.
Yes, although my Al iphone has a dent as a result
Pros and cons depends on what you're looking for in a phone and what your budget is. |

| reply to onebadmofo said by onebadmofo :--Does the Exchange email option work as you would expect? Yes, and so does Exchange contact and calendar synchronization--I had the phone up and running in 5 minutes after walking out of the AT&T store. It's quick, capable and displays all your Exchange folders as you'd expect. You can set how far back in time you want it to display messages for (3 days, a week, a month, a year, all) and do the same for calendar entries. New contacts and contact changes are synchronized automatically--it's arguably better than ActiveSync support on my old Palm Treo. -- The enemy of my enemy is my WHAT?! |

Well I never thought of looking on their site, really. I figured it would just be a huge ad for the phone and what it can do as far as music photos and what not. My luck would have it that none of MY questions would be answered on their site. That's why I never checked there.
But thanks for your answers. |
