Depending on the freq. they're using for the downstream carrier you are going to lose about 6 or 7 dB for every 100 feet, and on each of the splitters you will lose 3.5 dB.
You can try getting a dedicated line to that first splitter, but it sounds like you might not have good levels coming into the house....
