I am in toronto, and teksavvy is a reseller for bell but I stil dont think i would be able to use the above service with teksavvy.

Can anyone comment or should i connect the 1010 company.

Also teksavvy Homephone doesnt have bills or does it?Im asking because if i use a service like this with teksavvy i wouldnt be able to see the brake down of my LD calls.

Well I am taking a shot in the dark here as I am out west so can't get TSI home phone. Still as they are a reseller of Bell I don't see why it wouldn't work using the service you posted.

As far as billing goes I can only comment on billing for internet service. For that they just charge my CC however I sent an email to support@teksavvy.com and requested they email me a bill and they put me on that service. So now I get a bill sent by email. No idea how TSI home phone bills work but would assume you could get one emailed to you.

They're 1.0c/min anywhere in NA.

But note the "Connection fee 5¢."

a 1 minute call costs 6¢
a 2 minute call costs 7¢ (3.5¢/min)
a 3 minute call costs 8¢ (2.7¢/min)
a 4 minute call costs 9¢ (2.25¢/min)

If you have a long distance girlfriend then this is worth the dial-around hassle but if you make mostly short calls, TekSavvy may still be cheaper overall. Or you can decide which option to use based on the estimated duration of your call.

Home phone does have a bill, but they don't yet itemize the long distance calls. If you have a concern about your long distance charge, you can e-mail them and get them to send you a listing, but it's not automatic. A better system is apparently "in the works", but I don't know exactly what that means.

Define short call? It becomes cheaper at 3 minutes.

That said, I've use dialing services. They're a hassle. It's much easier to just dial the number and let your phone company handle it.

That is precisely what I did using the table in my previous post. The only part I left out was the observation that up to 2 minutes TekSavvy is cheaper, 3 minutes is essentially break even and at 4+ minutes 1010229 is cheaper.

Absolutely. Also TekSavvy uses Bell's LD infrastructure. The dial-around people often use VoIP or other poorer quality providers.

Put another way, a 10 minute call is 15¢ vs. 29¢. Probably not worth thinking about. But a 1 hour call is 65¢ vs. $1.74. Dialing around to save a loonie is probably worth the effort.

their europe rates are pretty good.
the country i call teksavvy offers 14 cents a min
with 1010229 its 9 cents a min so first min is even and save 5 cents every min after that. thats $2.95 every hour
