Re: Cuomo's Running For Governor said by mrchris:I was still in high school or even middle school when Mario Cuomo was in office, what sort of crap was pulled by him? Well, even though he professed to be a "good" catholic, he stated that he could not do anything to ban abortions in NY because the voters supported allowing abortions in this state, yet he REFUSED to sign a death penalty bill in NY, even though the vast majority of the voters wanted it, due to religious reasons... -- RIAA/MPAA... Bite me!!!! In constant search for intelligent life on Earth! |

Isn't that the total opposite over what most religious right politicians do? I thought that most were against abortion while they are for the death penalty. Still, an eyeroll either way would be appropriate. |

 | Catholics are not generally part of the evangelical far-right (although there have been Catholic movements on both the far-right and the radical left...But Catholics are like Jews in that they are intelligent enough to reject that hum-drum about the world being a 6,000 year-old tabernacle enclosed by a dome) and the death penalty is opposed by the Roman Catholic Church. |
