TransitMan : It seems the failure occured after the power outage a couple of nights ago. Computer started fine, got BOINC up and running, updated the AV, and life was good, or so I thought.

Was cleaning things up last night and noticed the hard drive light on, and clicked the screen on. A nice little box stated "Hard Failure", clicked ok and then a total freeze up.
Reboot brought me OS not found, checked BIOS, master drive not seen. Did a quick open and check of all conections, they are good, but as late as it was, left for today or tomorrow or.............................

I hate it when a drive just goes poof, no warning at all. Fortunately, it was a back-up to get online and a BOINC cruncher.
--
PROUD TO BE THE DIRECTOR OF THE CRUNCHENSTEIN ASSOCIATION AND THE HOST OF CRUNCHENSTEIN #2
