Sure for the tiny % of people that have both it's a bargin. For $158 one could rent 40 movies from Amazon Unbox.
You can still rent single movies from the Microsoft store. This is an additional service, not an exclusive one.

Additionally, if you have an XBox, you have to have a Gold subscription to play games via XBox Live, so all you'd have to have is a Netflix subscription, which 7 million people or so do. The content is not HD but they do stream content at 16:9 when it has been produced at that level. It's not as clear as true HD but not bad at least using the Roku box.

As attractive as $17 a month is I'm leery to throw any money into equipment and dumping my cable service, like I have with landline phone. Well I was excited by this for about five minutes then.
