That aside though, I find my Ipod touch to be a handy little device, so I assume Iphone must be more so. Both have become more handy with the App store release though.

| Re: Could have been alot more Verizon doesnt have visual voicemail, when will people realize this. Also, their service area, customer support, and the way their network handles calls is totally different.
ATT totally dropped the ball with not only how much they had per store, but also misinformation about contracts, plans, and other unforgivable ignorance. My friend switched to ATT to get iPhone when his phone died 2 weeks ago, and the person at the store told him that in order to buy an iphone he'd have to send the phone back and cancel the contract, waiting days without a phone till he got the approval. In all my years dealing with ATT i have never once ever heard them say this to anyone. Why the hell would they turn down someone wanting to buy an iPhone??? How widespread is the "you can't get an iPhone" ignorance?

An iphone comes with a 1 year warranty. It shouldn't be a hassle to replace it.

| Re: Could have been alot more I get cell service in some below ground subway stations (no they don't have any service in there active yet) in NYC and i have ATT, so i dunno what you're talking about. Also, when i was in san juan, i could call home no problem, and send MMS. If i'm not mistaken ATT had the first national wireless network. They have more towers per customer than anyone else, plus 2 other carriers lease cell tower traffic (tmoible, virginmobile) from ATT in their respective coverage areas. | |

ATT has to have more towers because a GSM tower can not transmit as far as CDMA can, so that's why they need to have more towers. Also virgin mobile runs on Sprint's network not ATT's. @conversent.net | Re: Could have been alot more I switched to AT&T specifically for the iPhone -- and so far, AT&T's coverage wins hands down over Verizon. Perhaps it's just my area but this blanket "AT&T is crap" statements are total bullshit.

Granted your phones make a difference, but it is completely unacceptable when I am traveling on the metro system (which is outside over 95% of the time and I can't stay on a call for the 25 min trip.

| Lets be clear here. The activation issues came from the iTunes servers which is owned by Apple. My sister got 3G iPhone and showed me her AT&T account was already setup just that she had to wait for iTunes to start working again. I didn't believe her until I connected my iPod and couldn't make and purchases.
Trust me that they had enough iPhones in stock. They just have to spread it over a few days to keep up the hype.
