Yeah, Apple clearly has the traits of a fly-by-night operation that's only had only one success ever.

The iPod/iPhone/iTunes thing -is- their only real success as of right now. Their desktop/laptop systems are not producing remarkable sales and are priced way over what they should be.

"Their desktop/laptop systems are not producing VIRUS SOFTWARE COMPANIES WITH remarkable sales."

There... change it to that so that it (at least a little) makes some sense....

Compared to the overall progress of technology, damned right!
Another anology.... 3M corp.. we didn't invent the mp3 player.. we made it better... we didn't invent the cell phone, we made it better (in Apple's opinion and hype mongers tied to wall street stock manipulators) Fly-by-nights are notiorious for jumping on the band wagon of other's success and leveraging it for MORE THAN IT'S WORTH!

even PT Barnum pioneered *but surely didn't invent* the exotic freak show traveling to the masses... now the technology gadet equivilent sits on a store shelf in stores such as AT&T and Apple (TM), circuit city & best buy, even big box stores will want a piece of that action. Too bad that the cell phone industry is a saturated and shrinking market even if the economy wasn't heading into the toilet.

Yes, it's almost heresy to badmouth a very popular product such as an ipod or iphone. You will find from time to time, I have very strong opinons (known to be venomously negative) about companies such as Apple who are credited to being better salespeople than technology people but through some barely explainable freak of nature..the stars align and money comes out of people's pockets, thus is told the story of Apple. Once those people no longer work at Apple (jobs, et.al) you will see a fall from grace and the Apple maquis product lineup will look as dated as a 3rd generation cassete player.

Funny, I don't run any anti-virus on any of my machines running numerous versions of Windows - and if I did I would be using something free anyways.

Whatever floats your boat bud.

"numerous versions of windoze"... haha, I forgot about all those. Reminds me of that great "Hello, I'm a Mac" commercial, where the PC decides which level of Vista he wants by spinning a giant wheel, and then ends up LOSING A TURN.

How real.

Whatever floats your boat, bud.

Does the bandwagon also lower IQ now? I have a laptop running Vista Business, and my new gaming machine running Vista Business. When reffering to numerous versions of windows I was reffering to the some 20+ years of equipment I have laying around all with different versions of windows.

Four to five years is pretty good for an OS. I expect Vista to last about as long. Doesn't OSX get a new version coming out every year that you have to pay for? Just a thought.

huh? By the time Windows 7 comes out vista will be 3 years old (retail). I fully expect Vista to last me at least 4 years. Not anywhere nearly as long as XP has - But all this doesn't change the fact that i'm not having to purchase a 130 dollar upgrade every year.

I spent 100 bucks on a copy of XP when it came out - and i'm still using that copy. I fully expect the same 100 bucks I spent on Vista to last me the same amount of time - and any security updates, useability updates, or small enhancements I fully expect to be provided to me free of charge, as they should be.

Wait... they're actually thinking of keeping vista out for THREE YEARS? Must be some great weed.

...and you spent 100 bucks on XP? (Is there any way you can get your money back??)

I don't understand why I would want my money back for a product which I used on a regular basis and did everything which I needed it to do.

You are beginning to sound like some bad Anti-Windows broken record. The astounding part is that you literally -hate- the products with a passion. Did Windows rape you as a child?

And you keep putting a new needle on the player with your posts (most of which you make baseless, pointless facts regarding a superior operating system, and the iPhone 3G: such as the battery being soldered on and sealed.) I'm just here to keep you on the straight and narrow in your posts.

You can continue to post without knowing what you're posting about, I'll just clean up your mess when you walk out.

The only point you have corrected me on was the iPhone battery. And frankly, now that i've looked at the dissemably guide - Are you freaking kidding me? Granted, YES it's replaceable now. But jesus christ - That is -NOT- an easily replaceable battery. I want to open a cover on my device and easily pop a new battery in. I don't want to dig through circuit boards with my eye-glass repair screw-driver to replace the damn thing.

The iPhone doesn't fit my needs. Maybe it fits yours. However, It does not fit mine at all.

Anyways, have fun man. I'm done arguing over this non-sense with you.

Nope, I'm just setting you straight, since you know nothing about what you're talking about. If you don't think an easily replaceable battery is popping open a case and removing two screws, then I'd hate to see what you call "difficult".

And remember: its only "non-sense" when you don't know what you're writing about. Cheers.
