They have more towers per customer than anyone else, plus 2 other carriers lease cell tower traffic (tmoible, virginmobile) from ATT in their respective coverage areas.
ATT has to have more towers because a GSM tower can not transmit as far as CDMA can, so that's why they need to have more towers. Also virgin mobile runs on Sprint's network not ATT's. Please get your facts straight before posting.
