Thanks Grail Knight See Profile. I just started using this extension and I rather like it so far. It took me a while to realize why I needed it.

Something is broken here.

I just installed "noscript-1.7.7-fx+mz+sm.xpi" as downloaded from the Mozilla site. I installed as a global extension.

When I restart the browser, it shows me a page saying that I have just upgraded to 1.7.6.4, but I should have gone to 1.7.7. However, TOOLS -> ADD-ONS shows it as version 1.7.7.

Note that this is on linux.

Did you reinstall it?

If you have that issue again report it to Giorgio at MozillaZine. He has a Noscript thread in the Extension/Theme Releases section.

Reinstall didn't change anything (installing with a new profile).

I don't have time to create an account for mozillazine right now so won't report it there.

It is probably a trivial issue. Most likely, 1.7.6.4 was the test version for 1.7.7, and they forgot to update some data item somewhere when renaming it to 1.7.7.

That was my first thought that the version was not updated.
Would not be the first time.

Edit* I had actually meant to reinstall the extension not create a new Profile. Instead of downloading Noscript from Addons Site get it from the Noscript dev site or vice versa.

If I just reinstall, it wouldn't show a message again, because it only shows that on an update or a first install - so that would not be a valid test. Creating a new profile ensured that I would see the message.

Did you let the dev know about it?

Did you let the dev know about it?
No. I can't see how to do that without signing up for an account at MozillaZine. It does not seem a serious enough problem for jumping through those hoops.

I have exact same bug. Doesn't seem to affect it though. Only on restart of FF it shows that you don't have 1.7.7, but addons says I do and about noscript says I have 1.7.7 too. Odd.

There is a line in file "noscriptService.js" that says:
VERSION: "1.7.6.4",

They probably forgot to update that line to "1.7.7".

I did check that the version at the noscript.net site is identical to the one available at the Mozilla site.

I'm treating it as a cosmetic bug that you only see one time.

Someone reported the same issue you saw this morning at MoZine Forum. You could probably visit there later and see what Giorgio has to say if you want.

Ok GK help me out here, NS is screwing with my FF 3.0, Loaded NS,
closed FF
opened FF to a blank page, no bookmarks, opened Task Manager, and I have two FF's running, closed both FF's, started FF, everything is fine.
Untill I close FF, same thing happens.
Anyone else run into this?

Everything is working fine here on two computers.

Close Fx and open the Task Manager and kill any Fx that may be running. (This issue may just be due to Windows and not the extension. I see the same issue once in a great while)

Start Fx again.

Uninstall Noscript and go download and install the previous version if you want to or try installing the latest version again.

Old version here: »https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox···ions/722

Latest version here: (Use the direct download link)

Must have been a big stretch, because in reality nobody needs it.
