I'm downloading XAM'd right now which is an anime from the creators of Full Metal Alchemist. PSN downloads are generally o-k for me. I think I get about 150 kb/s on average. Which is barely touching my 10 mbit connection.
So yea, it'll take me a couple hours to download it (1.5 gb in HD).
You have 14 days to watch an ep and once you first play it 24 hours to watch it before it "expires".
So far, the movie/show selection is quite impressive for an initial release and, being an anime buff myself, I see a couple good anime on there. I also purchased the robotech movie/ova they have on there too.
Oh and for those that care; XAM'd is japanese w/english subtitles but the rest of the anime are english dubbed.
Anyway, so far so good. I don't see myself using it all the time but every now and then, such as for a certain movie or episode of something it's pretty cool. Plus, if you download fast enough, you can play the movie while you're dling it so there's barely any wait (unfortunately, my download speeds from the PSN aren't fast enough for me to do that). |
