This Site is the best!

I wanted to say that justin See Profile (and "staff"), deserve a big thumbs up.

And I'm not talking about only the 'asterisk controversy', but rather a general statement about the site itself.

This site is not only unique in so many ways that it's impossible to name them all, but the fact that members can actually voice their opinions about any changes going on around here, makes it that much better.

And yes, it wouldn't surprise me at all if something else changes tomorrow...no problem.
Another reason this place is great.

Anyway, this thread seemed as good a place as any to mention that.
So, thanks again...for everything.

Hey!

Assuming the death of the Asterisks is permanent, my thanks to Justin et al.

I would have thought the userid would be a standard underlined clickable link (which would address the Pro-Asterisk Insurgency's new counterobjections) but I'm not one to quibble.

Now about that tiny X. theres enough unused space on that popup to place a close button or better yet, move your mouse off the window, it goes away by itself!

Or when you click outside the popup, close it.

Hey! Click the name ... and it goes Pop!

Now when you click the name of the Original poster it pops up a Profile window.

Better that the asterisk and yet unobtrusive.

Good going justin See Profile

Re: Please Take The Asterisks Away

Wow!
And now the "Move, and Close Popup" buttons are much bigger (as requested by some...especially those with Notebook Touchpads).

Man! I have to admit it's getting better, it's getting better, all the time.
When people talk, justin listens! (Well...sometimes).

Why not make it an option for those who do use it?

Those who do use WHAT?

All the functionality is back, and then some, just without the unsightly stars.

No need for an option. If you really want them back, I guess something like Greasemonkey or the mighty mighty Proxomitron could do it for you...

I honestly like the idea of "click off the pop-up, and it disappears" better than this. I really don't see myself clicking names much, but I just tried it out for the first time ... and it's a nice feature! I just don't like having to click on the "X" to do away with it .
