Sounded like a DNS issue to me. Was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.
As for the speed issue, testing using the dslreports tools gives anywheres from 800kbs to 2500kbs down. Using bellsouth's "tool" always gives ~2.9Mbs down/~380kbs up. The tests were run was using the modem only and also through my router; same disparity in results resulted.
Also, several of the tests came back with a notation of the possibility of compression in the uploading.
I tend to suspect any that requires one to identify oneself before running; there's always that possibility of the "tool" looking up account info and using that to "correct" the results.
Just asking in my ineloquent way.
