[Other] Need technical info on Arris HSI/VOIP TM502G modem

Trying to hook up Linksys WRT54GS wireless router to Arris TM502G modem.

Is the RJ-45 jack on the TM502G wired DTE or DCE or one of the newer "autosensing" interfaces?

I have read conflicting information on whether to use a straight or crossover ethernet cable.

[The Arris TM502G is supplied by the local ComCast carrier who wants to lease a wireless router to me rather than give information on hooking up anything except a single computer.]

you should be able to use a straight ethernet cable into the router. just be sure to reset the emta and then powercycle the router after they're connected.

Straight patch cable, cable companies do not carry crossover cables anymore, as they are only used to go from ONE computer to another computer and not a hub/switch/router.

The EMTA like a modem remembers the mac address so you must reset/reboot it when you shitch devices.
