You're both right- T-Mobile is a foreign company owned by a foreign company, a foreign company partially owned by a foreign government even.

No, T-mo *IS* a foreign company - always has been. However, years ago they did BUY a number of US-based smaller operators (who probably would never have made it on their own) to beef up their network.
