Adding my two bits here...
I have to say I am shocked that D-link would not have found this in its testing before release. Makes me think twice about buying anymore of there products.
In my case I had router set to notify me when a new firmware release was available. So a few days after its release I get messages from the router saying UPDATE ME. I had put over a months worth of settings into it and was starting to enjoy some of the nice tasty bits that make the GamerLounge unique. I was smart enough to save all my settings with the nice built in settings saver. Only issue is that it seems this 1.02 file is not compatible with 1.10 firmware. Good testing DLINK!
My home network is in shambles now. Nothing works. And my life revolves around computers. Feel like I am living it the stone age having to hack and slash my way to my devices.
GamerLounge ... no its a GamesNightmare DGL-4500 |

| reply to PosterDude Well the firmware 1.10 has screwed my router, it use to work so much better, and now my wireless signal has weakened, and my wired internet streaming has slowed down, and now that I know that it was pulled from the website, I hope they fix this issue as soon as possible. |

| The router has started failing a bit since I've loaded 1.10 on it. That's pretty bad. I really moved back to the DGL-4300, and I loaded on the 1.8 FW, since I have a lot of wireless clients. And hopefully it'll last me a bit.
The 4500 is failing with some packet loss, and time outs, as well as LAN ports failing. I'm not sure what's up. But, it's just not good at all. |

| reply to PosterDude Anybody know why they would prevent you from rolling back to 1.02? Been a week since my router told me to update and still no fix. No calls/emails back from D-Link either. I really would prefer not to have a refurbished replacement so hopefully they get the update out soon. As everybody has already said, I agree it's insane that this version of firmware passed testing. |

1 edit | dead ports and slow internet? ya i dont think that the firmware is the problem. I have been using the 1.10 firmware since it came out and aside from the mac address bug (which affects nothing else but having to look at a mac address composed of all numbers), is perfectly fine. Weak wireless signal and packet loss? Might try to reflash it, because this firmware just simply isnt the cause of all your ailments... |

Does sound odd with all the additional ailments being listed. My main problem is the mac issue. I would reconfigure my router and then get to mac filtering. When I tried to add my computer to the list it would just freeze my router. |

| reply to PosterDude What the problem seems to be with the mac address filtering is the deny address works, but not the allow. I tried to be sneaky and add all but one of my computers to the deny list, which actually added computers to the list and then switch from deny to allow, but that didn't work either. It managed to deny ALL of the computers. Anyways, I hope they get a new firmware out soon...I wonder whose genius idea it was to not allow a roll-back to 1.02.... |

| reply to PosterDude seems to work ok so far, my mac address filtering is working.
It didn't like my 103 settings backup for some reason. It loaded it but would't pppoe connect to my ISP. I loaded the one I made for 1.11 that I made from 1.10 upgrade and it worked fine.
So using 1.10 setting and putting in my MAC's seems to be fine.
Hopefully no gremlins pop up in this beta.
But so far, first impressions are good. |

@rr.com | reply to Reinvent3d FYI....
D-Link has just came out with Beta 1.11 . This code is on their FTP site and is suppose to correct the mac address issue as well as others.... |

| I put the 1.11 Beta firmware on. It seems to work better than 1.10 in that the MAC address is now correct.
On thing I did notice in the logs: [INFO] Fri Aug 01 20:51:23 2008 Latest firmware version 10.20 is available
I believe DLINK has made another mistake. I'm sure they mean 1.10 instead of 10.20 being available. |

And, with the whole log thing, I don't see that at all in mine. |
