 [Wired] befsx41 makes noise

Router befsx41, about one month old, is making sort of a white noise whine. Anyone else heard this from their router? I'm running the newest linksys firmware, i think it's 1.52.15

The noise is a little irritating. My computer makes less noise, go figure.

A router should be silent, if yours isn't, the power supply could be going bad or your electric line is dirty.

Anyone RMA'd a router before? What is the turn around time? Would I need to wait until it stops working, or do you think linksys would rma because of the sound it is emitting?

I RMA'd a switch that was making a low buzzing noise. At first, tech support told me it was normal, but after pressing the issue they agreed that they will exchange it.

I had two options for returning it. I could either send it back to them, and they would send me another one, or I could give them my credit card information and they would send me a new switch and then I would mail them back the old one when the new arrived. If I didn't, they would bill me for the switch. I opted for the 2nd one, paid $7 for shipping. Received it in 2 days, and it sent mine back (at their expense).

Rob,
Thanks for the response, it motivated me to call Linksys. I called Linksys and got approval to rma immediately. I completed the online rma form and I am doing what you did, get one sent and then send mine to them.

Well Linksys seems to be easy with the RMAs, a while back they released a firmware update that bricked every router that it was installed on, they RMAed everyone that called them, well from what had been posted here any way.
