[HDTV] Weirdness with HDTV

anon posted : So I switched to an HDTV box and the sales person said it will be an extra $6.95 per month, so I'm like ok, sounds good. I bring it home and hook it up and then realize I actually have a DVR box as well with DVR service...strange, but good. Then I start trying to find my HD channels. Only the local HD channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) works, ESPN, TBS, TNT, etc, anything over channel 174 I think it was weren't working, but for some reason I got StarzHD and HBOHD, again strange. Then I found out regular Spike TV and FX weren't working (channels 56 and 57 I believe) again, what the heck.

So I'm just wondering if anybody else has had this type of experience or knows whats going on. Also whats with the DVR? Does anybody know how much I should be paying for just HD capabilities or do I have to get both HD and DVR? I believe I just have the Extended Basic service with the additional $6.95 charge for HD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill
