Any Danica Patrick fans out there?

She has a new show on motodanica.com. Apparently she's doing more than just racing! It does look like she had some fun making these episodes, nice to see she has a sense of humor. The shows called, "At home with Danica Patrick". What do you think?

It sucks just like her racing does.

It sucks.. Her racing sucks.. But does she suck

Haha. That's terrible. I thought it was ok.. I actually like her, she adds a little flavor to racing and she seems ok as a person.

So you didn't like her show on motodanica at all? LOL. I beg to differ, who says over acting isn't funny. LOL! She has done well for herself, being the 1st woman to win in the Indy car race series, modeling, and acting.

Did you watch both episodes?

She needs to grow up, stop stomping her feet like a little girl, and get to racin'. Yea, she has had some bad luck, all racers do. But she berates her crew over the radio...she is the driver, she needs to communicate with her crew during practice.

When she starts wining races and titles, then you can do that.

Oh yea, IMHO, it should be a requirement that all future racers study Dale Earnhardt as a person first, then a racer, and to learn how to conduct themselves.

I find several things funny and ever so slightly hypocritical of lots of racing fans.

1) Guys and most racing fans LOVE it when guys get into fights and shout at each other - but not when Danica does it. Then it's all 'little girl' stuff while with guys - it seems to be who's penis is bigger (just look at Paul Tracy and his idiotic fights he got in - usually due to something mind numblingly dumb he has done).

2) Most will state how smart the crew/driver was to win a fuel mileage race - unless Danica wins one.

As for berating the crew - can almost be universally heard in any racing series - IRL, Champ, EVERY weekend NASCAR is running, heard it a few times in F1 etc... That is what frustration can do and I would much rather have her frustrated of sitting in 5th place than complacent in ANY position on the track.

Frankly, I don't want to see fightin' in racin', I just want to see good, clean, hard racin'. With all due respect to the '79 Daytona 500. And I don't like drivers getting all pissy because someone gave them a little tap to move them up the track. I loved it when Earnhardt Sr. did it, and I never got pissed when anther driver did to him(Jeremey Mayfield)

Now, it is obvious you have not seen Danica stomp her feet and act like a 5 year old. It is pretty funny.

You don't berate your crew, you communicate and encourage. Especially when you have won 1 race in your career. During practice sessions, it is very important to communicate what exactly the car is doing so you are ready for race day. I don't think she does that very well.

That said, I'm not a fan of his, but Jeff Gordon can berate his crew all he wants. And I mean rip them a new one. Why? Because the man is a champion and really knows his cars and the tracks inside and out. But he doesn't do that.

I don't dislike her, and yea I'd hit it a few, but I do think she is overrated as driver.

And you again - would be 100% wrong - I have seen her get pissed just like I have seen guys get pissed but guys love it when other guys get pissed but get all upset about Danica when she does - I don't get it at all.

Dale Jr also does not necessarily communicate well either - as well as many other drivers. Again - I would rather her be frustrated and yell about it then be "Oh well - we can't get anything done right." and complacent.

I don't like to see drivers fight, period. I'll watch MMA for that. Arguments, that is one thing, but they fight over the stupidest things. Like a racin' deal.

True about Dale Jr., but look where he is in the standings, and every race he seems like he finishes in the top 10. Then again, look at Matt Kenseth, the dude hardly says anything, and won a title. That is when the driving skills come in.

Hey, I give Danica credit, I couldn't go 230 at Texas. But I still don't think she is that good of a driver. She has the equipment and the car, the tools are there for her to win. When she wins 5 races in a season or a title, then I'll change my opinion.

That's true, she needs more victories added to her name to be taken seriously as a race car driver. She's racing soon at the 2008 Grand Prix of Sonoma, lets see how that goes. I know she's not grammy material as far as being an actress...but did anyone else enjoy the, "At home with Danica Patrick" show on the motodanica site?

I like her. Without following the sport terribly closely, I get the impression she consistently runs better than about half the field, so she can drive. Just looked at Episode 1 and 2 of "At home with Danica Patrick" and it's ok, sense of humor...

While that certainly is true, up until this year running in the top half of an Indy Car field wasn't exactly that much of an accomplishment when you consider that about a 1/3 of the field was operating with shoestring budgets and marginal talent. Even now with the addition of the former Champ Car drivers there is still a major lack of real talent on the track. Just look at how poorly Montoya, Franchitti, and Hornish have performed in NASCAR - those guys were on top in Indy Car and now they are lucky to even make the field in NASCAR.

Back to thread in general, I don't hold her outbursts against her. While I admit I used to like her back before she became "Danica", it's the whole media circus that turned me off. People act like she is the crowned princess of racing even though up until this season she hadn't won anything. Meanwhile other drivers who have similar results as Patrick are just glossed over as also rans.

I thought it was ridiculous at Texas Motor Speedway during driver introductions. They come out from the concession area then walk down to the track. Where Patrick came out there was an entire mob of people and scores of police. Afterward I walked over to Dixon's area and he walked out without much fanfare (in fact I had to step out of his way as I was blocking his path ) I felt like yelling out to all the screaming Patrick fans that this guy had actually WON the Indy 500.

I don't, she think she is a better driver than she is. Look at INDY 500 she has a shit because of a bump during the race in the pits. She then struts like a cock in the pit lanes. Yet she hit someone else's pit crew member during a practice and knocked him unconscious. All she said was " it was unfortunate" . Not even a apology. What about that great pit stop at Watkins Glen. She was lucky she didn't mow all those pit crew out. It's one thing to hit a tire but why did she plow into the pit wall.

Before anyone says I don't like her because she is a woman. I always rooted for Sarah Fisher.
