The first example in Justin's post
does look better, in my small opinion. The previously new logo's "DSL" part overshadowed the smaller print. It's easy to look past. It's probably "bad" enough that the URL contains DSL, but to have the logo give more weight to it, adds to it. And I'm not a DSL hater
It doesn't make sense. Broadband dslreports.com?

How so? The logo is simply advertising the URL (dslreports.com), while Broadband is displayed above the URL to define the website. This is a broadband website, not limited to DSL. Cable, wireless, FiOS, satellite, etc., have nothing to do with DSL.

The logo is probably not solely used on this website, but also used in prints, advertisements, links, etc.

One would think that you want the viewer of the logo to see the URL and get a good idea of the contents of the website. "dslreports.com" gives the reader an immediate impression that the website is a DSL-only website.

Because the current logo reads "Brodband reports.com" which suggests its one word. Don't see the point in having both urls there unless you add "AKA".

I'm not sure how it suggests that it's one word, given that the two are in dfferent font color and sizes? It appeared better, in my small opinion, because it shows the standard URL (dslreports.com) and Broadband - the content and focus of the website.

it probably seems like one word because we're used to seeing the old logo that matched broadbandreports.com

I could criticize the current logo for the opposite problem: what site is "reports.com"?

*gasp*

Is it time for a new logo different than the current style now?

Good point. I admit that, being use to the old one, I didn't see the same issue. I guess it's easy to forget something that you are use to seeing and pretty much forget the fine details.

In any attempt, DSL should be capitalized.

So far I like Justin's the best. For all the others--try some other fonts.

I agree with Pete... DSL should be in caps... and probably the "R", too!

"Broadband's User Community" is too small. I have good eyes and can barely read it

I like that one, but... and I know you said you were done... wouldn't it be better if it said "Broadband Users' Community" instead of Broadband's User Community.

I do like the touch of graphics on yours over just text on a blue background.

And... FWIW... Nice effort!

Thanks
that can be easily be fixed if they decide to use my logo or not and if that's the slogan they want.
