| Speed Question
I was told where I'm living I'll be getting a speed of about 2.5-3M as opposed to 5 M.
Can anyone give me any idea how good that'll be? I'm assuming that'll be okay for internet surfing? How about streaming shows online or downloading stuff from Ares/Limewire? Thanks:) |

2.5 is around 20-30 seconds for a mp3, 40 minutes for a 700 MB movie, ect. |

| reply to gilliang For North American streaming, it will be more than adequate. If you're using international sites (like tudou, youku) it won't matter, because you'll get really slow streaming anyway.
Downloads - you'd be looking at around 250kb/s+ Or 1 MB in 4s. 5MB mp3, as said, 20s. That is, assuming full speed. P2P does not always give full speed. (Torrents are also throttled - see your other post about the wireless question as well as the MLPPP thread) |
