I was told where I'm living I'll be getting a speed of about 2.5-3M as opposed to 5 M.
Can anyone give me any idea how good that'll be? I'm assuming that'll be okay for internet surfing? How about streaming shows online or downloading stuff from Ares/Limewire? Thanks:) |

Port Coquitlam, BC | 2.5-5 is more then enough for streaming shows.
2.5 is around 20-30 seconds for a mp3, 40 minutes for a 700 MB movie, ect. |

For North American streaming, it will be more than adequate.
If you're using international sites (like tudou, youku) it won't matter, because you'll get really slow streaming anyway.
Downloads - you'd be looking at around 250kb/s+
Or 1 MB in 4s.
5MB mp3, as said, 20s.
That is, assuming full speed. P2P does not always give full speed. (Torrents are also throttled - see your other post about the wireless question as well as the MLPPP thread) |
