Phil : Is the wireless network card set to DHCP so that it is automatically assigned an address from the router? If it is set to DHCP, where is it getting this 269 address from?

You can try to manually assign an IP address to the wireless NIC on the PC that does not work. So you could use an IP address of 192.168.1.2, subnet mask would be 255.255.255.0 and the gateway would be 192.168.1.1 (default address).

gatr : I have 2 laptops and my Router seems to only connect to one. The IP is 192 on the one that works and 269 on the one that does not ...I have tried to release the IP and renew it but it come back 269 ... I called Linksys and they wanted 29.95 to help!!! I called Comcast and they spent alot of time trying to get the 269 to renew but failed. We have good signal strength ect... We took the bad computer to a friends house and it hooks right up to his Linksys AP with 192 .... Is it the router or the computer? Thanks ..mike
