I have the KDC-MP438U from Kenwood. The usb port on the front handles my 8GB PNY thumb drive perfectly.

 We have the MP338, and after using it, you notice some shortcomings. Such as only being able to see Music Title, or Artist, but not both when listening to XM. If I had to choose again, I would go with a better model.

I ended up using a ipod dock that plugs into the Aux. port on the 338.
