| NBC Olympic channels on Fios now
I just noticed 3 NBC Olympic channels on my boxes here in Plano, Texas:
79 - Olympics - It's a barker channel right now with a lot of promos for the Olympics.
896 - NBC 2008 - NBC Olympics - currently not available.
897 - NBC 2008 - NBC Olympics - currently not available.
In another thread I said I just assumed Fios wouldn't have this programming. I was wrong.
I also should add that I have no idea if any of this will be HD. I suspect it won't be. But, obviously, I've been wrong before.  |

The Olympics loop video is now running on Ch84 in my area where we don't get MSNBC due to Cablevision.
The loop is also running on Ch79. |

If Verizon is actually to add two temporary HD channels to all markets for the Olympics, that means they could instead add 2 more national HD channels right now. NBC's coverage drove me from watching much of the Olympics some time back.
How many of us would rather have USA-HD and pick another popular HD channel (Sci-Fi, CNN, FX, Versus/Golf, TBS?) right now in place of the 2 temporary Olympic channels? USA is consistently the top ranked cable channel, so it makes sense to be the next HD channel added. But maybe these 2 new channels will be SD and the press release was wrong. |

Well if they say they are going to have 2 HD channels for the olympics and I find 2 HD channels that say:
896 - NBC 2008 - NBC Olympics - currently not available.
897 - NBC 2008 - NBC Olympics - currently not available.
...I tend to believe it. |

Portland, OR | Doing channel down from 897 I found CNBC HD+ is on too. It's not displayed on the guide and I turned off the TV before I thought to of notice the channel number...879 maybe?. USA HD is pixelated for me. |

Well here Channel 79 The Olympics Barker Right Now show the same thing as 84 Which does not show in the guide and has no channel data or name. I guess 84 is temporary and 79 is going to be the channel. No MSNBC I guess  |
