| Firefox Says It Is Running
Does anybody else ever get the message "Firefox is already running" when you try to load it? I am using Firefox 3.0 on a laptop with Vista. I seem to get the message after being online for awhile and then logging out of Firefox and using another application. Then when I try to load Firefox again, I get the "already running" message. I wonder if this is an issue with my particular installation of Firefox? |

| I've seen that occasionally. Maybe once since I upgraded to 3.x. I don't know what causes it.
Just go into task manager and kill the firefox.exe process. -- "Wisdom begins with putting the right name on a thing" (Old Chinese Proverb) |

| Yes that is exactly what I have to do. So it happens to other folks too I guess. I plan to upgrade to version 3.0.1 tonight so maybe that will take care of the problem. Other than that slight problem I really like Firefox 3.0 although lots of people say it is a resource hog. I have even learned to really like the Awesome Bar now. |

What were you doing when it happened? I was trying to get a secure site to come in and it wouldn't load so I clicked Firefox off and when I tried to restart it, I got the message. |

| reply to chad0404 I found that Firefox 3.x takes a bit longer to completely shutdown, (imagine it also depends on how many add-ons and plugins are installed). Just give it a few seconds extra. -- Gladiator Security Forum: www.gladiator-antivirus.com/
