| KOTOR MMO in the work by Bioware
»www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/starwars···;title;1
Hopefully this hasn't be posted already? In any case I trust Bioware will make this game what SWG should have been. I'm saddened EA is publishing it, but happy it isn't SOE...
Scheduled for 2009! Looks like the KOTOR 3 rumors that it would be a MMO were right on the money! |

| reply to TigerLord Only reason I say that is because most MMO's coming out these days are turning into nothing but horrible flops. I'm hoping that WoW dies out soon so that other MMO's can at least gain enough of a userbase to make the experience at least fun and playable.

(Tigerlord are not impressed with me ) -- Life is a game of blackjack. You keep playing until you bust. |

| reply to TigerLord The problem isn't the WoW player base .. it's that the newer games suck. A lot of people are trying the new ones out and then going back to WoW because they failed to stand up. -- I'd take the time to insult your intelligence, but you probably wouldn't get it. |

| reply to TigerLord ewwwwwwwwww. I was really hoping they would just keep the standard single player RPG for Kotor 3 and then make a separate for MMO.
Part of the fun of Kotor was the fact it was single-player. Why must we turn everything into an MMO these days? What happened to the good ol' days of sitting down and playing a nice RPG by yourself. You don't have to worry about paying any monthly fee, or putting up with a-holes in the games. You can create your team the way you like and not have to deal with anybody else.
Of course they will probably just turn around make a crappy MMO of Kotor and charge ya $10/month to play it. No thanks.
There is nothing wrong with a nice single-player oriented game, with an option to play multi-player but is not really necessary. Sure many multi-player games you can do alone but it's not the same. The games are built around the fact they are multi-player and usually stink by yourself. Oh well, I guess EA is gonna screw up again..... -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

Why should they stop making multiplayer games? they should start making more if anything. |

But if you start a series out in single-player don't turn around make the 3rd one an MMO. Stick to the main focus on single-player. Then make a separate game for an MMO.
Multi-player games are fun but not every game has to be turned into an MMO. Every other day there's a new MMO out there. It's not often we get a good RPG these days, Kotor was one of them and they should have stuck with single-player to finish it off. -- HABYA HABYA HABYA TEAR DOWN THE HEMP STALKS EAT UP THE OLD MAN AND WOMAN AND CARRY OFF THE LITTLE GIRL MAY YOU DIE ALONE |

quote: EA has rubbished recent reports that a new Knights of the Old Republic game is in development at Bioware.
News broke earlier this week (which we and many others eagerly reported) that a recent presentation to analysts by EA CEO John Riccitiello referred to a Knights of the Old Republic game.
The slide in question, called "Best Creative Talent", also mentioned Black, Boogie and Skate, among others.
However, EA has now told Eurogamer that those references "speak to past portfolio releases and the pedigree of the studio but do not specifically address future sequels".
"The MMO in development at Bioware Austin is listed a 'New MMO'. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused," a spokesperson added.
Elsewhere, LucasArts clarified its relationship with Bioware, telling IGN "it has nothing to do with Knights of the Old Republic".
