I have been having exactly the same problem. It started on 6/20. After a week of noticing many failed transmission packets on »192.168.0.1/tx_stats/ and many uplink errors on the advance diagnostics page at »192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html, I called HughesNet on 6/27. They were having heavy rain at the NOC and told me to call back. I called on 6/28 and was told they were having an equipment outage at the NOC and could not troubleshoot the problem. They told me the problem was at their end. I was transferred to billing to get a credit, and was told to call back when the problem was resolved.

Today, I spent an hour on the phone with tech support. The speed test wouldn't even complete in the upload section. They ran all sorts of tests, and concluded by saying the problem was with my transmitter, and they had to send out a technician at $125. I told them no way, and I'd call back. I then went checked the advanced stats, and sure enough, something they had done had fixed the uplink problem. I haven't seen any additional failed transmissions either, and the speed test is back to normal.

I called billing, and got a credit for 23 days (from the first time I called on 6/27 until today).

I don't know what it is they did, but while they were "running tests" I was watching the status window at »192.168.0.1/sys_status/ and noticed a TX status of 9 "The satellite transmitter is adjusting for optimal network timing". Anyone know how to force this to happen, in case my problem comes back?

I didnt pay the $125, no work was preformed. Think there could be something wrong with the modem here? If its the case I think the warrenty covers the Modem going bad since its the 24months parts and labor for something going wrong.

Hopefully its just a dish problem. I play WoW (horrible latency I know) and it has gotten bad lately. Avg latency went from 1k to 2-3k

Failed Transmissions now at 1168 and I have not used it most of the night.

So - you paid $125 to NOT get your problem fixed? Why did you let the installer leave without even an attempt to remedy the problem? That's like going to a car dealer because your engine's missing, paying them $125 to tell you your muffler belt's loose, then not bothering to have it fixed.

Based upon the info you've provided, the apparent solution would be to correct the dish mounting deficiency: braces, guide wires, approved pole, vertical mount, roof mount - anything's better than letting the thing wave in the wind out there.

I have been having a problem with my service for almost a month now. After 2 weeks with tech support, I finally got a tech dispatched for $125, woot.

The tech came out, checked the system and said all was fine. Only thing he could see was that the transmit errors were high (avg of 2000 a day from what I can see). That and the Pole it is installed on is not normal equipment. He said it was to small, and that the dish should not move at all. Mine, if you barely touch the pole, moves from side to side.

I did some speed test. Each time it gets to the Upload part my Failed Transmissions line goes up about by about 100. I reset the modem not 20m ago and I currently have 626 Failed Transmissions after 4 speed test.

I also had a spill a day ago where I could not access my modem for almost an hour. Part of the System Control page would load this time, and next time a different part would load but not the previous. This was fixed after 2 restarts.

So, would this be a Dish pointing problem? Modem problem?

Oh, yes, the tech is coming on the 1st to completely relocate my dish and repoint it to a new bird. This has to be done beause where it is now it can not reach another bird.

Currently on SatMex5, 117west, 970MHz, 33Msps H H.
