| [Wireless] WRT54GS Ver. 6--Adapter won't work
Be gentle with me--I'm only a mom/homemaker but the most computer-literate at our house. We have the above router upstairs in our bedroom where the cable company set up our internet access. My Toshiba Satellite laptop connects great anywhere in the house. However, the kids' Windows XP desktop downstairs with the WUSB54GSC adapter has quit connecting. This is our second adapter in a year. I upgraded the firmware/whatever via a several hour chat with Linksys support. I had merely called to see if I could connect a Powerline network thru our router to the desktop and then the support person had me making all kinds of changes on the desktop. He never really answered my original question.
Do I have any other options for connecting the kids' desktop to our network? Is there anything more reliable? The adapter only got a "low" signal at best. Now, when it does light up it's very dim and will only brighten when I jiggle the adapter in and out of the USB port. Are these adapters really the junk I think they are? |

| I use Ethernet over Power (EoP) in my home network. This is something I'd try and see if it works well in your setup as older wiring, circuit breakers, etc., can affect the throughput you receive.
I'm currently using Actiontec: »www.amazon.com/Actiontec-MegaPlu···00QGBC8C |
