Some manufactures use the read speed since it's faster, and so you don't get the performance you think. A good deal right now is on the Sandisk Extreme III cards if you don't mind rebates. Final cost for 3 4gb cards ends up being about $50-$60 »www.calumetphoto.com/item/IM18363/. If you take a look at the rebate form, there are additional offers for different sized cards, lesser quanities, and other vendors offering it. A lot of times these cards come with SDHC card readers (all 3 of mine did). If not, they're pretty cheap.

Given that the K200D only has a 4 shot buffer, a fast card will be very important if you ever want to do any kind of fast shooting. Even more so than on somethng like the K10D/K20D, who's buffers are much larger. But you can still shoot at 2.8fps until the buffer fills. After that, you can shoot as fast as the camera writes to the card. The camera is capable of writing at about 80x (12mb/s), so any card slower than that will slow things down.
