What music player do you use on your PC?

I'm curious what music player application you use on your PC? I've been using Winamp for years now, but it's really slows down for me. I'm not sure, it could just be my file library. When I search for songs it takes a long time and the system freezes on each letter I type in the Media Library search box. I have 35753 items in my media library so I'm debating if that's whats slow, or if Winamp is just bloated over the years.

I use Winamp, version 5.35. I load tunes by the folder, so it runs quickly for me, even with folders that have 3 or 4 thousand titles in them.

It may be the media library portion of the player is bogging down under so many entries.

Which version are you using?

WinAmp on my laptop and VLC on my Ubuntu 8.04 tower. I like both and have trouble with neither. Using the latest versions of both.

5.531 here.

I'm trying WMP right now and with the same media library it searches through songs pretty quickly. I have a Athlon 3700+ with 3GB of Ram. I think Winamp's media library is a bit slow.

I'm going to try some of the other suggestions to find the perfect player for me. Thanks for posting what you all use, it'll give me more to try. I'm going to try foobar, and AIMP. Also, I do have VLC but primarily use it for Video. I'll throw some music in there and see how it goes.

I guess I'm primarily looking for something that keeps my music organized and allows me to search quickly by artist, title, genre, and most importantly date. I never really used WMP's media library before, but I just searched for "2008" and got a lot of my newer stuff in the search results just about instantly, so maybe that will work.

WMP, but rather infrequently. Usually just whenever I dig through my ripped music.

I am still addicted to Pandora, as I get to listen to quite a few of my favorites along with tons of new stuff as my station evolves.

(Now listening to Primus - Shake Hands With Beef...those guys crack me up! )
