New HD Channels (Maryland) active

I have two new HD channels active today. They are CNBC HD and USA HD. I am located in Howard, County MD. I also have two NBC Olympics channels in the 800+ range that are not yet active. Keep the channels coming.

No, this is completely different from the other new HD channels that are being added. The channels he's talking about are being added by Verizon as part of NBC's expanded olympic coverage. (you'll see other threads on this topic)

The USA-HD channel has been turning up at channel 884; CNBC-HD+ at 879 or 9xx something. We do have multiple threads on this. However, 884 is a odd place for USA-HD, why not put it at channel 824 just in front of TNT-HD? No market that has not undergone the re-alignment is using 821-824 AFAIK. Anyway, USA-HD shows up here in Sterling, VA on the guide at 884, but I can not tune to it.

Have you checked the QAMs lately, afiggatt? Have any been added?

USA-HD is in the guide 884 in Fairfax, too.

Maybe this topic's subject needs to be edited... the channels are in the guide but not active

Same here.

And to elaborate, TiVo has not yet sent guide data for them here, either, but the names show up via CableCard.

Just noticed that USA and CNBC are both showing up in the guide but not active. USA was at channel 884.

This is really strange. I'm in Carrollton using TIVO and have no information on any of the stations. But I can punch in 79 and get what Tivo calls "Barker", 879 is CNBC-HD, 884 shows USA-HD and 918 is CNBC (different from HD). 896 is nothing but color bars. Weird!

Here in Columbia MD, 865 is WBFF, but that is also 810. Both are live. 879 is CNBC and has had programming on it since it appeared even if the guide says coming soon. Same as 884 being USA HD and it also has programming, despite the guide saying coming soon.

No 900 series channels other than 900.

So nice being able to record Burn Notice in HD last night. The SD version was way too tough on the eyes. Had to set it up manually on the Tivo because 884 isn't in the guide nor does it have program info yet.
