In all honesty, I don't even see why this is necessary. We've got airlines pulling entertainment system servers out because they weigh 200 pounds and they want to save on fuel. So, they want to put in internet systems so they can offer a service where most people won't purchase it.
The costs are going to be per segment. Many flights have a plane change as it is. Not to mention, can't people get along with out the internet for a couple hours? Travel is a chore.. you've got to get yourself from one place to another. During that time, relax.. do the traveling, and when you get to your destination, plug back in.
With an economy in the dumps for so many people, INCLUDING the airlines, I think they are investing money in a totally wrong area. |
