said by drslash :Why change something from the most helpful tabs to tabs I have no use for? Hot topics, Gallery, FTP files. I have no use for any of these. Just another reason to spend less time at the site. You appear to have been hanging around since 2002, so you are probably man enough to take such a minor change to the user interface.
For a long time people have rightly complained that members info was split between two different tabs, "Members" and "Your". This just consolidates them.
No more clicking now is required than before - before you had to click "Your" then click "xxxx", Now you click "members" and click "xxxx", it is exactly the same path. And if there is something you want frequent access to, you can add it to the mini bar buttons. |

| It does take one more click than before, because the "Your" entry was opened by default when I reached the site by going direct to "fav forums" via a bookmark. Now it's the "Forums" entry that's open by default, and I have to click "Members" to see the "News Feeds" item that I want to browse.
Is the site motto changing from "If it ain't broke don't fix it" to "If it ain't broke, fix it until it is"? -- Jim Kyle |

Weirdal we must repeat. Premium join:2003-06-28 Lincoln, NE | reply to justin I like the consolidation of menus, but I wish clicking "members" would bring you to your page (like clicking 'your' used to). Currently it brings you to /welcome, which a guy really only needs to see once. |

| reply to jimkyle This was 100% the same thing I was doing. Had Favorite Forums bookmarked in my browser, gave a quick tour of my Favorite Forums, then used the "Test" link (under the Your section - which was expanded) to view results of on-going tests. Now the FAQS/Forums section is expanded.
In fact I remember I did the above because justin made a change a year or so ago that disrupted my previous routine, which involved the menu bar.
That's been my lesson here over the years. You get a routine, and justin makes a few changes that disrupt the routine within a year or so. And no, I'm not really complaining |

| reply to nwrickert The bookmark brings me to my favorite forums page, but my normal next hop from there is to my news feeds to catch up with Slashdot. I suppose I could create a new bookmark to go there, but Justin's note about adding to the minibar looks better -- and it's already working for me... -- Jim Kyle |
