| Hi Cubs,
Welcome! Your cousin informed you properly. You can use the service with more than one computer but you will need to get a router. When you sign up for service with us, we provide you with a free DSL modem lease. You simply pay the S&H. Instead of connecting that DSL modem to your computer, you will connect it to a router. That will allow you to share the connection between the two computers. Assuming the computers are both in the same area, a standard wired router will work from for you. You can purchase a router at one of the local computer stores like Fry's. Though I am sure the MacBook has an Ethernet card, you will want to make sure that your older IMAC has one as well. If I remember correctly they all came with Ethernet cards but thought I would throw that out there as I am not 100% sure.
Thanks -- George General Manager DSL Extreme Will work for reviews. |

| ok that's great news. we'll check about the ethernet card. the imac has an ethernet port. both computers will be used in the same area. we've only had dial up so we have questions. will the router box say which ones work better with your service & macs? does the router need to plug into the desktop? if so where? will the modem include instructions about what gets plugged into where? approximately how long does it take between ordering and service beginning? . our isp bill arrived & we want to know when we to anticipate cancelling that service. will your service begin if we haven't acquired the router or macbook yet? thanks for your help. |

| Here is a pretty good router you can use: »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···33124190 comes with instructions setup CD etc shouldn't be too difficult to setup. If all else fails we have a »Linksys forum where you could ask for help. It supports a wireless function if you don't wireless this one: »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···33124001 works just as well. And before you ask the first router is more versatile and gives you flexibility in a long run, should you decide to upgrade things. -- "If it ain't broke don't fix it." |
