 update notification for IESPYAD ?

my reading of ed's pages says that he has no email list to notify of updates but posts here and elsewhere. has anyone found a way to be notified (automatically) when a new update is released? ie used to have a feature on offline pages that just compared and said if it was different, but the feature seems gone in ie7/vista. maybe there are third-party utilities that would do this?

thanks!

I just wonder if SpywareBlaster's restricted sites protection is adequate and IE-SPYAD is worth bothering about anymore, considering IE-SPYAD hasn't been updated since February 5th. I don't know, I could be wrong. It's a topic that requires much research.

ok, i found a solution. just in case anyone's interested:
i'm using the free outposted.exe from xequte.com. it watches the page(s) i enter, and when it detects a change, it emails me the page as html, and i can just click the link to download. it has several levels of "change," where "any change" reports it always changes in this case (read access count or something?). the next one up, minor changes, seems to work. for vista, had to give it admin privileges (else it fails in saving its settings at end). can let it run all the time, but i decided instead to use task scheduler to run it for a few min daily to check.

there are lots of other page change notifiers. the freebies are usually limited, moreso than outposted. the commercial ones are about $50 and do all kinds of fancy things that i don't want.

i set it to watch page »www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/history.htm
rather than the page with the actual download, 'cause the latter is many screenfuls long with lots of instructions, advice, links, etc. great stuff but not for checking change. the above url has nothing but the releases and their dates. small, fast, focused on what i want.

hope this helps someone somewhere sometime.
