| What value to use for 16MB service for Tweak Test?
Oh, I know I may end up looking like an idiot but I've searched and searched for the answer here at the site and elsewhere. Okay, here it is...lol.
After performing the Tweak Test, it asks for your service, operating system, connection type, and "Download Speed kbit/s." The download speed is where I run into trouble.
I tried several converters, including the one here and if I follow the tests instructions, it says to use kbit/s. With 16/2 service, that would mean entering 16 MBps (correct?) into dslreports' bandwidth calculator and it will return results of:
134,217.7 Kbps (kilo bits per second)
Or should I be using:
16,384 KBps (kilobytes per second)
I know it asks for kbit/s in the Tweak Test but in reading the text underneath:
"If you don't know what the 'connection' is, choose 'normal'. If you are unsure of what download speed to enter, then consider that most broadband services offer downloads of at least 2000 kbit/s and up to 6000 kbit/s, with certain providers able to deliver from 10000 kbit/s to 50000 kbit/s."
It would seem that my using 134,217.7 Kbps (kilo bits per second) is way over any limits shown in the text.
See! I am so very confused, lol.
I just need to know what to put for the 16MB service so I can properly set my RWIN. That's all. And if you could answer that question for me, I'd be a happy-happy man. ha!

Bay Area | 16000 should work just fine.
Its true there are 8 bits in 1 byte but just to make things easier most people count 10. Same thing for mbit (megabit) to kbps (kilobit) conversions.
